Chris Wagner provided the committee with an overview of the bill.(Attachment 13)

Catherine Magana, gave testimony in support of SB424 as the bill would provide necessary updates for the current plane coordinate system in mapping and updating Kansas coordinate standards. The bill would include accounting for future mapping adjustments requiring no additional budget increases to the agency or to the state.(Attachment 14)

Bill Haverkamp, provided testimony to the committee supporting the bill as it will: 1. redefine the state plane coordinate system to match the definitions created by the National Geodetic Survey. 2. updating present language to reflect the current coordinate systems.3. address the deprecation of the U.S. Survey Foot by the National Institute of Standards and Technology updating the coordinate system to comply with the International Foot to comply with federal standards.(Attachment 15)
