Nick Myers provided a review of HB2589 and responded to questions from the committee members.

Chair opened discussion on HB2589 and ask if there were any amendments.

Representative Hoheisel presented an amendment for changes to wording in the bill.

Nick Myers provided an overview of the amendment.(Attachment1) and responded to questions from the committee members.

Representative Hoheisel made a motion to move the amendment as described for HB2589, seconded by Representative Penn . Motion failed. Requests for recorded vote: No-Carmichael; Yes-Penn and Smith

Chairperson Delperdang asked committee for any other amendments for HB2589.

Representative Turner presented an amendment and provided an overview. (Attachment2).

Nick Myers responded to questions from the committee members regarding the amendment.

Chair asked the committee for further discussion on the amendment.

Representative Turner made a motion to move the amendment as described for HB2589, seconded by Representative Hoheisel. Motion carried. Requests for recorded vote: Yes-Carmichael

Chairperson Delperdang asked the committee if anyone had further questions.

Representative Neighbor made a motion to favorably pass out HB2589 as amended, seconded by Representative Hoheisel. Motion carried. Requests for recorded vote: No-Carmichael; Yes-Penn, Smith, Melton, Bergquist.
