Transportation

Brief

HB 2656 would amend KSA 8-1,147 to add Pearl Harbor Survivor license plates to the list of distinctive plates which surviving spouses or other family members may retain upon the death of persons to whom such plates were issued.

Background

Representative Stone appeared as the bill’s principal proponent.

Other proponents included Kathryn Kayser, whose late father’s picture once appeared in the Emporia Gazette alongside his Pearl Harbor plate, and Cameron Strebal, the decedent’s great grandson.

The Committee recommended that the bill be placed on the consent calendar.
