SESSION OF 2001

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON HOUSE BILL NO. 2552

As Recommended by House Committee on
Appropriations

Brief (1)

SB 2552 amends the current law regarding canteens, canteen funds, benefit funds, work therapy projects, work therapy funds, and key deposit funds, changing the definition of state institutions to include the Kansas State School for the Blind, the Kansas State School for the Deaf, the Kansas Veterans' Home and the Kansas Soldiers' Home, and allows these institutions to request from the Director of Accounts and Reports permission to set up such funds. The bill provides specific requirements regarding timely deposits of receipts and eliminates the requirement for the Secretary of Administration to adopt rules and regulations for key deposit funds.

Background

The Director of Accounts and Reports, Dale Brunton, testified in support of the bill. This bill was introduced on behalf of the Department of Administration.
