Brief (1)



HB 2175 provides that a judgement lien must be filed in the county where a case was originally filed before a lien can subsequently be filed in any county where the judgement debtor's real property is located.



The Senate Committee amended the bill to amend the assumption of risk of domestic animal activity law (KSA 60-4001 et seq.) to include bison and any creature of the ratite family including ostrich, emu, or rhea.





Background



A conferee from the Kansas Association of District Court Clerks and Administrators appeared in support of the bill.



The Senate Committee added provisions of SB 139 to the bill dealing with domestic animals and assumption of risk.



The fiscal note indicates no fiscal effect.
