SESSION OF 2001

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON HOUSE BILL NO. 2119

As Amended by Senate Committee on
Elections and Local Government

Brief (1)

HB 2119 amends the Johnson County Park and Recreation District law to change bid procedures. The bill deletes the requirement that bids be opened and immediately acted upon and provides instead that all bids shall be accepted or rejected within 30 days of the opening of the bids. The proceedings to open and consider bids shall be conducted at a time and place specified in the bid notice and shall be open to the public. The bill increases the threshold on contracts subject to the competitive bid procedure from $10,000 to $20,000.

Background

The bill has no fiscal impact.

The Senate Committee amended the bill to increase contracts subject to competitive bids to $20,000.
