Brief (1)

HB 2074 reorganizes the Kansas Bureau of Investigation's (KBI) administrative structure by making all assistant and associate directors unclassified employees. In addition, HB 2074 removes obsolete language in statutes regarding the KBI.

Background

This bill was introduced by Kyle Smith of the KBI. The bill allows the KBI to have greater flexibility in salary issues as well as allowing future directors more options in putting together a successful team.
