SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON HOUSE BILL NO. 2029

Brief (1)



HB 2029 would provide a sales tax exemption for sales and purchases of Kansas chapters of the Parkinson's Disease Association when such transactions are related to the purpose of eliminating Parkinson's Disease through medical research and public and professional education.



The bill also would exempt sales and purchases of the National Kidney Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri when such transactions are related to the purpose of eliminating kidney disease through medical research and public and private education.





Background



Proponents included Representative Huff and the Parkinson Association of Greater Kansas City.

A fiscal note on the original bill from the Kansas Department of Revenue indicated that the impact on sales tax receipts would be minimal.



The Kidney Foundation amendment was added by the Senate Committee.



The Senate Committee of the Whole amendment is technical.
