SESSION OF 2001

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON SENATE BILL NO. 110

As Amended by Senate Committee on
Ways and Means

Brief (1)

SB 110, as amended by the Senate Committee, makes adjustments to KSA 2000 Supp. 1-301. The bill deletes references to collection of fees for the Certified Public Account (CPA) examination by the board and makes them payable directly to the examination service; the bill also deletes the reference to proctoring the exam to a candidate from another state and the related fee.

Background

The agency entered a contract in 1997 to privatize the administration of the CPA examination; this bill corrects the language in the statute to reflect that change. The executive director of the Board of Accountancy testified in support of SB 110 and there will be no fiscal impact.
