SESSION OF 2001

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON SENATE BILL NO. 98

As Amended by House Committee on
E-Government

Brief (1)

SB 98 eliminates the statutory requirement for publishing every proclamation issued by the Governor in the Kansas Register. However, all statutorily required proclamations will continue to be published in the Kansas Register. All proclamations will be published on the state website.

Background

The bill was requested by the Governor's Office. SB 98 would save the Governor's Office the expense of publishing proclamations generally released to the public through media releases.

The House Committee on E-Government added language requiring the publication of all proclamations on the state website.

SB 98 would have no fiscal effect.
