S.B. 36 repeals an 1891 statute which requires school boards to provide and maintain suitable and convenient water closets for each of the schools under their supervision.





Background



S.B. 36 is one of 11 bills (S.B. 27 through S.B. 37) introduced by Senator Emert at the suggestion of the State Department of Education to remove from the books certain statutes that have become obsolete, have expired, or contain outdated provisions of education law.



The State Department of Education notes that the requirement contained in the statute proposed for repeal is obsolete.

According to the State Department of Education, the bill has no fiscal consequences.
