SESSION OF 1998

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON HOUSE BILL NO. 2787

As Recommended by House Committee on

Governmental Organization and Elections

Brief(1)

H.B. 2787 repeals an obsolete statute that requires the back page of a document to be stamped with a stamp that states "Original Compared to Record."

Background

H.B. 2787 was supported by the Kansas Register of Deeds Association. A proponent said that modern copy equipment makes this requirement obsolete.
