S.B. 480 amends the Campaign Finance Act, the state governmental ethics laws, the state and local conflict of interest laws, and state statutes concerning lobbying registration provisions by redesignating the Kansas Commission on Governmental Standards and Conduct as the Governmental Ethics Commission, effective July 1, 1998.



The bill abolishes the Kansas Commission on Governmental Standards and Conduct fee fund and transfers all moneys to the Governmental Ethics Commission fee fund.



The bill also contains several technical changes.





Background



A representative of the Kansas Commission on Governmental Standards and Conduct testified in support of the bill. No opponents appeared before the Committee.



According to the fiscal note, the enactment of the bill would have no fiscal impact.
