SENATE BILL No. 116

An Act concerning political contributions; relating to limitations thereon; amending K.S.A.
25-4153a and repealing the existing section.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:

Section 1. K.S.A. 25-4153a is hereby amended to read as follows: 25-
4153a. No registered lobbyist or, political committee or person, other than
an individual,
shall make a contribution as defined by subsection (d) of
K.S.A. 25-4143, and amendments thereto, to any legislator, candidate for
membership in the senate or house of representatives or, candidate com-
mittee for any such legislator or candidate, state officer elected on a state-
wide basis, candidate for state office elected on a statewide basis or can-
didate committee for any such officer or candidate
after January 1 and
prior to May 15 of any year
of each year and prior to adjournment sine
die of the regular session of the legislature
or at any other time in which
the legislature is in session and. No such legislator, officer, candidate or
committee shall accept or solicit any contribution as defined by subsection
(d) of K.S.A. 25-4143, and amendments thereto, from any registered lob-
byist or, political committee or person, other than an individual, during
such period.

Sec. 2. K.S.A. 25-4153a is hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication in the statute book.
