 Prayer by Chaplain Washington:

      Gracious Father,

As we come to You today, again we can say

       Thank God it's another Friday.

While things were stressing us, You were blessing us,

but still we say thank God it's Friday.

The work has progressed, because again You have blessed,

but we still say thank God it's Friday.

As these men and women debate the concerns of our state,

let the light of Your wisdom show the way.

And when all is said and done,

remind us to turn to someone,

and say Thank God!, Thank God it's Friday.

Now Father, grant us traveling grace to the various parts of our state. Help us to
see that it was You who kept things well at home. Then return us on Monday, with
the heart of the Psalmist in Ps. 100:4. Let us again enter these doors with
      thanksgiving.

I come to You in the blessed name of Jesus. Amen.
