J o u r n a l o f t h e S e n a t e TWENTY-FIRST DAY -------- SENATE CHAMBER, TOPEKA, KANSAS Tuesday, February 11, 1997--2:30 p.m. The Senate was called to order by Vice-President Alicia Salisbury. The roll was called with forty senators present. Invocation by Chaplain Fred S. Hollomon: Heavenly Father, Today we'd like to pray for Our spouses left at home, Who must do double duty While we toil beneath the dome. They try to see that things get done; Things we'd do if we were there. We know at times they feel they could Climb the walls and pull their hair. Children miss their parents And spouses miss each other. We learn first hand that children need Their father and their mother. And when we are together It seems it's very rare That people ever notice Our spouse is even there! They either find themselves ignored, Or hearing folks complain, Or reading things about us That give them so much pain. So we thank You for our families, And for all that they endure. Give them strength and patience, Lord, Keep them healthy and secure. I pray in Jesus' Name, AMEN INTRODUCTION OF BILLS AND CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONS The following bills were introduced and read by title: SB 266 An act concerning motor vehicles; relating to consumer protection; amending K.S.A. 50-651 and K.S.A. 1996 Supp. 50-645 and repealing the existing sections, by Committee on Transportation and Tourism.
