10             AN  ACT concerning retirement and pensions; relating to the Kansas
11             public employees retirement system; certain elected local officials.

13       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14             Section  1. (a) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
15       any member who is an elected local official of a municipality who is also
16       employed by another participating employer of the Kansas public em-
17       ployees retirement system other than the municipality and is an eligible
18       employee as defined in K.S.A. 74-4902, and amendments thereto, may
19       retire from service from such other participating employer and may con-
20       tinue to serve as an elected local official.
21             (b) No such member who is an elected local official who retires as
22       provided in subsection (a) and who continues to serve as an elected local
23       official shall accrue any additional service credit for such service as an
24       elected local official.
25        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
26       publication in the Kansas register.
