10             AN  ACT amending and supplementing the pharmacy act of the state of
11             Kansas; concerning records of prescription orders; prohibiting certain
12             acts and providing penalties for violations.
13      
14       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
15             Section  1. (a) Unless authorized in writing by the patient, a phar-
16       macist or pharmacy shall not sell or otherwise provide to any person for
17       use for marketing or other commercial purposes any information derived
18       from a prescription order if the information enables identification of the
19       patient.
20             (b) Violation of this section is a class A nonperson misdemeanor.
21             (c) This section shall be part of and supplemental to the pharmacy
22       act of the state of Kansas.
23        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
24       publication in the statute book.
