  9             AN  ACT concerning the state board of healing arts; relating to certain
10             meetings thereof.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13             Section  1. (a) Except as provided by subsection (b), any meeting of
14       the state board of healing arts which is conducted or held for the purpose
15       of discussing any matter relating to the powers, duties, functions or other
16       affairs of the board or the transaction of the business of the board shall
17       be subject to the provisions of the Kansas open meetings act. The pro-
18       visions of the open meetings act shall apply to any such meeting of the
19       board whether or not there is a majority of a quorum of the members at
20       such meeting. Any matter discussed at a meeting of the board shall not
21       be privileged under the attorney-client privilege or any other privilege
22       granted by law.
23             (b) The provisions of subsection (a) shall not apply to any meeting
24       relating to:
25             (1) Disciplinary action of any licensee of the board; or
26             (2) any other matter specified in K.S.A. 75-4319, and amendments
27       thereto, except as specifically provided by subsection (a). 
28        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
29       publication in the statute book.
