10             AN  ACT concerning the state and political subdivisions thereof; relating
11             to certain contracts and bids therefor; amending K.S.A. 75-3740a and
12             repealing the existing section.

14       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
15             Section  1. K.S.A. 75-3740a is hereby amended to read as follows: 75-
16       3740a. To the extent permitted by federal law and regulations whenever
17       the state of Kansas or any agency, department, bureau or division thereof
18       or any municipality of the state including, but not limited to, county,
19       school district, improvement district or other public body lets bids for
20       contracts for the erection, construction, alteration or repair of any public
21       building or structure or any addition thereto or for any public work or
22       improvement or for any purchases of any goods, merchandise, materials,
23       supplies or equipment of any kind, the contractor domiciled outside the
24       state of Kansas, to be successful, shall submit a bid the same percent that
25       is at least 3% less than the lowest bid submitted by a responsible Kansas
26       contractor as would be required of such Kansas domiciled contractor to
27       succeed over the bidding contractor domiciled outside inside Kansas on
28       a like contract let in such contractor's domiciliary state. 
29       Sec.  2. K.S.A. 75-3740a is hereby repealed.
30        Sec.  3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
31       publication in the statute book.
