10             AN  ACT concerning the university of Kansas medical center; authorizing
11             certain capital improvement projects by the university of Kansas hos-
12             pital authority.

14       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
15             Section  1. (a) The university of Kansas hospital authority is author-
16       ized to construct buildings and facilities on state-owned property of the
17       university of Kansas medical center from any moneys of the university of
18       Kansas hospital authority if the capital improvement projects for such
19       buildings and facilities have received prior approval by the state board of
20       regents and the plans and specifications for such projects have received
21       prior approval by the secretary of administration. Such capital improve-
22       ment projects shall be totally financed from moneys of the university of
23       Kansas hospital authority and the buildings and facilities constructed shall
24       become the property of Kansas upon completion and acceptance by the
25       secretary of administration. No such capital improvement project for a
26       building or facility shall be approved by the state board of regents without
27       having first advised and consulted with the joint committee on state build-
28       ing construction.
29             (b) The university of Kansas hospital authority is authorized to repair,
30       remodel or renovate state buildings and facilities of the university of Kan-
31       sas medical center from any moneys of the university of Kansas hospital
32       authority if the capital improvement projects for such repairs, remodeling
33       or renovations have received prior approval by the state board of regents
34       and the plans and specifications for such projects have received prior
35       approval by the secretary of administration. Such capital improvement
36       projects shall be totally financed from moneys of the university of Kansas
37       hospital authority and the repairs, remodeling or renovations shall be-
38       come the property of Kansas upon completion and acceptance by the
39       secretary of administration. No such capital improvement project to re-
40       pair, remodel or renovate any state building or facility shall be approved
41       by the state board of regents without having first advised and consulted
42       with the joint committee on state building construction.
43        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
44       publication in the Kansas register.
