11             AN  ACT concerning certain confined feeding facilities for swine; relating
12             to standards for swine waste lagoons or ponds.
13      
14       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
15             Section  1. (a) As used in this section:
16             (1) "Impermeable liner" means a synthetic membrane liner that has
17       a maximum seepage rate of 164 inch per day.
18             (2) Terms have the meanings provided by K.S.A. 1998 Supp. 65-1,178
19       and amendments thereto.
20             (b) Upon written request of the board of directors of a groundwater
21       management district, the secretary shall require that the sides and bottom
22       of any swine waste retention lagoon or pond of any swine facility located
23       within the boundaries of the district be lined with an impermeable liner.
24        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
25       publication in the Kansas register.
