  9             AN  ACT concerning disclosure of certain information relating to certain
10             judges.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13             Section  1. (a) As used in this section:
14             (1) "Election officer" means the secretary of state or any county elec-
15       tion officer, or any employee or agent thereof.
16             (2) "Judge" means justice of the supreme court, judge of the court
17       of appeals, judge of the district court or municipal judge.
18             (b) Neither the home telephone number nor the home address of a
19       candidate for election or retention as judge shall be disclosed by any
20       election officer.
21             (c) This section shall not be construed to prohibit disclosure of the
22       name and town of residence of a candidate for election or retention as
23       judge.
24             (d) Violation of this section is a class B misdemeanor.
25        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
26       publication in the statute book.
