  9             AN  ACT concerning telecommunications; requiring certain service pro-
10             viders to provide certain long distance service at or below a certain
11             rate.

13       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14             Section  1. On or before January 1, 2000, providers of intraLATA long
15       distance telecommunications service in this state shall offer to every cus-
16       tomer in this state the option of making unlimited long distance calls
17       within the customer's area code for a flat rate of not more than $30 per
18       month.
19        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
20       publication in the statute book.
