                2-5           13             AN ACT relating to property taxation; exempting residential property
14             therefrom; amending K.S.A. 79-201x and repealing the existing
15             section.

17       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
18           Section 1. K.S.A. 79-201x is hereby amended to read as follows:
19       79-201x. For taxable years   1997 and 1998 and 1999, the following de-
20       scribed property, to the extent herein specified, shall be and is hereby
21       exempt from the property tax levied pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A.
22       1997 Supp. 72-6431, and amendments thereto: Property used for resi-
23       dential purposes to the extent of   $20,000 $30,000 of its appraised valua-
24       tion.
25           Sec. 2. K.S.A. 79-201x is hereby repealed.
26           Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
27       publication in the statute book.
