                    HOUSE BILL No. 2775           By Committee on Governmental Organization and Elections           2-2             9             AN ACT concerning state officers and employees; relating to state gov-
10             ernmental ethics; amending K.S.A. 46-241 and repealing the existing
11             section.

13       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14           Section 1. K.S.A. 46-241 is hereby amended to read as follows: 46-
15       241. (a) No state officer or employee shall disclose or use confidential
16       information acquired in the course of his or her such officer's or em-
17       ployee's official duties in order to further his or her such officer's or
18       employee's own economic interest or those of any other person.
19           (b) No former state officer or employee shall disclose or use confiden-
20       tial information that was acquired during the course of such officer's or
21       employee's official duties in order to further such officer's or employee's
22       own economic interest or of those of any other person.
23           Sec. 2. K.S.A. 46-241 is hereby repealed.
24           Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
25       publication in the statute book.
