                    HOUSE BILL No. 2682           By Committee on Environment           1-21             9             AN ACT concerning dogs; requiring certain reports of bites.

11       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
12           Section 1. If a law enforcement officer receives a report that a dog
13       has bitten a person or if a physician licensed to practice medicine and
14       surgery treats a person for a dog bite, the law enforcement officer or
15       physician shall promptly report the occurrence to the department of
16       health and environment. The report shall include the date of the occur-
17       rence, the apparent or known breed of the dog and the extent of the
18       injury caused.
19           Sec. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
20       publication in the statute book.
