 9  AN ACT concerning adverse possession of real property; amending
10    K.S.A. 60-503 and repealing the existing section.

12  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13    Section 1.  K.S.A. 60-503 is hereby amended to read as follows: 60-
14  503. No action shall be maintained against any person for the recovery of
15  real property who if such person has been in open, exclusive and contin-
16  uous possession of such real property of less than 160 acres, either under
17  a claim knowingly adverse or under a belief of ownership, for a period of
18  fifteen (15) 15 years prior to the filing of the action and has paid all taxes
19  of every kind levied or assessed and due against such property for a period
20  of five years prior to the filing of the action. This section shall not apply
21  to any action commenced within one (1) year after the effective date of
22  this act.
23    Sec. 2.  K.S.A. 60-503 is hereby repealed.
24    Sec. 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
25  publication in the statute book.
