 9  AN ACT concerning campaign finance; prohibiting contributions and so-
10    licitations for contributions during certain periods of time; amending
11    K.S.A. 25-4153a and repealing the existing section.

13  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14    Section 1.  K.S.A. 25-4153a is hereby amended to read as follows: 25-
15  4153a. No registered lobbyist or political committee shall make a contri-
16  bution as defined by subsection (d) of K.S.A. 25-4143 and amendments
17  thereto to any legislator, candidate for membership in the senate or house
18  of representatives or candidate committee for any such legislator or can-
19  didate, state officer elected on a statewide basis, candidate for state office
20  elected on a statewide basis or candidate committee for any such officer
21  or candidate after January 1 and prior to May 15 of any year or at any
22  other time in which the legislature is in session and. No such legislator,
23  or officer candidate or committee shall accept or solicit any contribution
24  as defined by subsection (d) of K.S.A. 25-4143 and amendments thereto
25  from any registered lobbyist or political committee during such period.
26    Sec. 2.  K.S.A. 25-4153a is hereby repealed.
27    Sec. 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
28  publication in the statute book.
