11  AN ACT relating to property taxation; concerning exemption from the
12    levy financing school districts.

14  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
15    Section 1.  For all taxable years commencing after December 31,
16  1996, the following described property, to the extent herein specified,
17  shall be and is hereby exempt from the property tax levied pursuant to
18  the provisions of K.S.A. 1996 Supp. 72-6431, and amendments
19  thereto:  All real property described for assessment rate purposes by
20  subclasses (1), (2) and (6) of class 1 of section 1 of article 11 of the Kansas
21  constitution, to the extent of $20,000 of its appraised valuation.
22    Sec. 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
23  publication in the statute book.
