AN ACT concerning the Kansas public employees retirement system;
  relating to postretirement increase.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
  Section 1.  The retirement benefit, pension or annuity payments ac-
cruing after June 30, 1997, to each retirant or joint annuitant or benefi-
ciary of such retirant, who is a special member of the Kansas public em-
ployees retirement system, is a member of the state school retirement
system and retired prior to July 1, 1971, shall be increased by an amount
equal to $100, and shall be paid by the Kansas public employees retire-
ment system to such retirant.
  Sec. 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication in the statute book.
