The Chairman opened the hearing and called upon Jason Long for a revisor review of the bill.

Proponent Senator Kellie Warren cited the constitutional protections of the Second Amendment as the basis to codify attacks and discrimination against manufacturers and distributors of firearms.

Proponent Jason Watkins pointed out that the bill of rights of both the U.S. and Kansas Constitution were very clear that citizens have a right to provide and bare arms. Mr. Watkins cited the Yetti company's actions to undermine the constitution right of companies to live and do business in the state should not be allowed.

Proponent Darren LaSorte shared some history of efforts of certain interests that have discriminated against firearm manufacturers and distributors. Mr LaSorte referenced specific companies and public entities that have actively discriminated against companies protected by the Second Amendment of the Constitution.

Neutral Thomas Witt claimed that the constitution only protects individuals, but not corporate entities that produce and distribute firearms.   (Attachment 10)
