Chair Erickson opened the hearing on SB 378.

Staff provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)

Sarah Beagel, Co-owner for Aiello Fireworks, appeared in favor of the bill.  (Attachment 2) Being able to sell fireworks all year would would be an obvious financial gain and an additional benefit of opening the selling season earlier.

Philip Bradley, Kansas Fireworks Association, spoke in favor of the bill.  (Attachment 3) The bill protects the citizens of Kansas and promotes the businesses without sacrificing any control over the fireworks used in Kansas.

Written testimony in favor of the bill was received by :

Brent Aiello, Co-Owner for Aiello Fireworks  (Attachment 5)

Doug Jorgensen, State Fire Marshal, provided written neutral testimony.  (Attachment 6) The State Fire Marshal addressed questions from the Committee.

Chair Erickson closed the hearing on SB 378.
