Representative Mark Schreiber testified as a proponent for HB 2178. Representative Schreiber provided a brief history of the bill, the results of the bill in the house, and concurred with written testimony submitted by Mayor Dustin Wright of Americus. Representative Schreiber answered questions from the committee.
Amanda Stanley, League of Kansas Municipalities, testified as a proponent for the bill. Ms. Stanley also provided some historical context for the bill and suggested that a state statute is necessary to vacate the allocation of the plot as there is no sufficient city provision to vacate the plat. Discussion ensued. (Attachment 1)
