Natalie Scott gave a brief overview of HB2625. The Committee had comments and questions.

Representative Whitmer suggested to the Committee to require all law enforcement agencies to refer to Kansas Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (KS CPOST) before hiring. Representative Whitmer reminded the Committee he is the Chair of KS CPOST. He said he would not bring an amendment today but let the KS CPOST to do it first.

Representative Finch brought forth an the Finch amendment (Attachment 5). The Committee had comments and questions.

Representative Finch moved to amend HB2625 with the Finch amendment, seconded by Representative Whitmer.

The motion to amend passed.

Representative Finch moved HB2625 favorably for passage as amended by the Finch amendment, seconded by Representative Whitmer.

HB2625 passed favorably as amended by the Committee.

Chairperson Jennings adjourned the meeting.
