Proponents

Phil Bradley, Brewers Guild, offered testimony in support of HB2476. He noted this will cleanup the law. Per statute he noted that if it is not specified specifically, it is not allowed in Kansas. They are asking that brewers be allowed to produced beer at the level of 15% by weight.  (Attachment 7)

Discussion and Questions were asked by Senator Oletha Faust-Goudeau.

Debbi Beavers, Director of Alcohol Beverage Control, Department of Revenue, spoke as a proponent to HB2476. She noted that the bill would allow products in the state of Kansas that could also include alcoholic candy and other items, and additionally might also include cupcakes with a shot of liquor in the center, of which Alcohol Beverage Control has no objections. (Attachment 8)
