Chairman Kelly opened the hearing on HB2594.
KPERS Executive Director Alan Conroy provided informational testimony (Attachment 4) Mr. Conroy addressed questions from Committee members.
Ed Klumpp testified in support of HB2594, (Attachment 5) saying that adoption of the bill would allow local counties the option of placing detention deputies/correction officers/jailers into the KP&F retirement system, allowing them to have the potential same retirement benefits as commissioned deputies. Mr. Klumpp addressed questions from Committee members.
