Chairperson McGinn opened the hearing on SB 343. Jill Wolters provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Zach Gearhart testified in support of the bill. Wichita State University is in the process of developing some land that previously was a golf course. However, they discovered that part of the land is deeded to the Board of Regents or the State of Kansas and not the University. This bill would fix an inconsistency by transferring the land Wichita State University so they can proceed with the development. There is no financial transaction involved. Mr. Gearhart responded to questions from Committee members. (Attachment 2)
