74-32,176. Advance payment of tuition and retention of tuition, limitations. (a) Subject to the provisions of subsection (b), no tuition in an amount greater than $350 shall be collected from a student by any institution more than 30 days before the student receives classroom instruction, and not more than $150 of such amount may be retained by an institution from any student who fails to enter the institution. (b) In the case of distance education, no tuition in an amount greater than $200 shall be collected from a student prior to the first submission of a lesson by the student, and not more than $75 of such amount may be retained by an institution from any student who fails to enter the institution. |
