Nick Myers provided an overview of the bill and responded to questions from the committee.
The chair asked committee for amendments.
Representative Turner presented a balloon amendment that Evergy, Kansas Corporation Commission, Kansans for Lower Rates, Citizens Utility Ratepayer Board, Kansas Chamber, Kansas Sierra Club and other parties had agreed to. (Attachment3)
Representative Turner moved to adopt the amendment, seconded by Representative Ohaebosim. Motion carried. Representatives Carmichael, Melton, Schlingensiepen and Ohaebosim requested their "aye" votes be recorded.
The chair asked committee for further discussion.
Representative Neighbor made a motion to favorably pass out HB2527 as amended, seconded by Representative Williams. Motion carried. Representatives Carmichael, Melton, Schlingensiepen and Ohaebosim requested their "aye" votes be recorded.
