Chairperson Longbine opened the meeting greeting the members, staff, and guests.
Tamera Lawrence, Assistant Revisor, Kansas Revisor of Statutes Office (ROS) substituted for Eileen Ma, ROS, today. Ms. Lawrence provided the Revisor's Memorandum brief for HB2098, which is the House version of SB18. (Attachment 1)
Eric Turek, Director, Government and Public Affairs, Kansas Insurance Department (KID), presented testimony supporting HB2098. He told members that this bill had passed in the House with a vote of 123-1. (Attachment 2)
Chairperson Longbine advised that he would like to have an amendment changing the enactment date when the Committee takes final action on this bill. Seeing no questions or discussion, the Chairperson closed the hearing on HB2098 and opened the hearing on HB2285.
