Creating the crime of interference with the conduct of a hospital, providing criminal penalties for violation thereof and increasing the criminal penalties for battery of a healthcare provider who is employed by a hospital.

Chairperson Patton explained the HB2023 was sent back to the committee by House Leadership for an amendment.

Chairperson Patton moved to amend HB2023 with the clinics amendment (Attachment 3), seconded by Representative Goddard. Motion carried. Members asking to have their votes recorded: Yea: Carmichael, Highberger.

Representative Highberger moved to amend HB2023 with the remove battery provision amendment (Attachment 4), seconded by Representative Carmichael. Motion failed. Members asking to have their votes recorded: Yea: Carmichael, Highberger

Representative Goddard moved to pass HB2023 as amended, Representative Lewis seconded. Motion carried.  Members asking to have their votes recorded: No: Carmichael, Highberger

 

Chairperson Patton adjourned the meeting at 3:51 pm.
