Chairperson Bergquist opened the hearing on HB 2555 and asked Revisor Heim to give an overview of the bill.  Committee members asked questions of the Revisor.

Davis Hammet, President, Loud Light Civic Action (Attachment 11)

Cille King, League of Women Voters of Kansas, Advocacy Chair (Attachment 12)

Aileen Berquist, Community Engagement Manager, American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas provided written-only opponent testimony. (Attachment 13)

Appearing as a neutral, Rick Piepho, Harvey County Clerk & Election Officer -- KCCEOA Elections Committee Chair, gave testimony on HB 2555. (Attachment 14)

Chairperson Bergquist thanked the conferees for their testimony and closed the hearing on HB 2555.

He announced the Committee would be hearing four bills next Tuesday.

The meeting adjourned at 5:48 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the House Elections Committee is February 15, 2022.
