The Chairperson opened the hearing on SB86 and asked David Wiese, Assistant Revisor, Office of the Revisor of Statutes, to provide an overview of the bill. The Revisor responded to Committee questions. (Attachment 3)
Alan Conroy, Executive Director of KPERS, provided testimony in support of the bill. He explained that SB86 makes the required technical changes to keep KPERS in compliance with IRS regulations. He also stated that the Senate passed SB86 on March 2, 2021 with a vote of 39-0. Mr. Conroy responded to Committee questions. (Attachment 4)
Mr. Conroy invited any Committee members who might be interested, to attend two upcoming meetings of the KPERS Board of Trustees.
After asking if there were any other conferees and seeing none, Chairperson Johnson closed the hearing on SB86.
