Chair Jennings called for discussion and final action on HB2146.
Natalie Scott, Assistant Revisor, reviewed the bill. The revisor responded to question from the Committee.
Representative Jennings distributed a proposed balloon amendment, sentencing grid handout, and discussed the impact on prison bed space should the proposed amendment pass. (Attachment 8) (Attachment 9) Representative Jennings discussed the recommended changes and responded to questions.
Representative Jennings moved, Representative Owens seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion carried.
Representative Carmichael, Highberger and Owens requested their 'Aye' vote be recorded.
Representative Highberger moved, Representative Resman seconded, to recommend HB2146, as amended, favorably for passage. The motion carried.
