There being no other bill introductions, Chair Longbine opened the hearing on SB29.
Eileen Ma, Assistant Revisor, Kansas Revisor of Statutes Office (ROS), provided an overview of the bill, which amends and updates the statute pertaining to risk-based capital. (Attachment 1) SB29 is the same bill as HB2072.
Lee Modesitt, Director of Government Affairs, Kansas Insurance Department (KID), appeared as the sole conferee and proponent for the bill on behalf of KID. (Attachment 2) He explained the need for the updates to the statute and answered a question from Senator Pittman.
There being no other questions, and no additional proponent, opponent or neutral conferees, Chair Longbine closed the hearing on SB29.
