(a) (1) In addition to any services required under K.S.A. 2019 Supp. 38-2201 et seq., and amendments thereto, after the department for children and families receives a report of child abuse or neglect where the subject of the report is a child with sexual behavior problems and the department determines that a joint investigation with law enforcement is required in accordance with K.S.A. 2019 Supp. 38-2226, and amendments thereto, the department shall immediately provide a referral to a child advocacy center or other mental health provider and, as needed, offer additional services to:

(c) Nothing in this section shall prohibit any other investigation or action by the department or law enforcement that is otherwise authorized by law.

(d) This section shall be a part of and supplemental to the revised Kansas code for care of children, K.S.A. 2019 Supp. 38-2201 et seq., and amendments thereto.
