Minutes for SB63 - Committee on Transportation

Short Title

Allowing cities to authorize the use of transportation network company signs in vehicles.

Minutes Content for Wed, Mar 13, 2019

Staff explained the bill and answered questions.  Chairman Proehl recognized Senator Mike Petersen as the proponent for this bill. (Attachment 3) According to Senator Petersen this bill would authorize the governing body of a city to adopt an ordinance to allow a driver for a transportation network company to equip the vehicle with a device capable of displaying light visible from directly in front of the center of the vehicle.  Senator Petersen said the light would help customers find the transportation network company vehicle in a crowded location - if a city authorizes the use.

The Chairman asked if there were any other proponents, neutrals or opponents, there were none.  After all questions were answered Chairman Proehl closed the hearing on SB63 and opened the hearing on SB94.
