Chairman Olson open the hearing on the bill and called for a Revisor of Statutes overview. Eileen Ma provided the overview.

Chairman Olson called for Proponent Testimony on the bill.

Senator Ed Berger explained that the problem the bill would repair is based upon a previous action with an unintentional consequence.

Chairman Olson temporarily excused himself from the meeting deferring the Chair to Vice Chairman Billinger.

Vice Chairman Billinger called for opponent or neutral testimony.

Alan Conroy explained that if passed the bill would remove a penalty for a retired KPERS member returning to work in other employment before the end of the statutory waiting period if the member retires on or before January 20, 2018.
