Natalie Scott, Assistant Revisor, provided an overview of HB2243. There were no questions from the membership. (Attachment 1)
Melissa Reed provided testimony in support of HB2243. Ms. Reed explained registering with the state requires them to have an audit performed annually instead of alternating with a review on years 2 and 3. This is extremely costly for their organization and other animal shelters. The exemption of animal shelters from registration requirements will allow more financial resources for the homeless animals and people they serve. Ms. Reed answered questions from the membership. (Attachment 2)
